I see from the FAQ that it is possible to set all list member settings to moderated. I also see that it is possible to set the privacy settings such that future new subscribers have the moderated flag. What I don't see is if it is possible to do what I want, which is to set the settings such that for all new subscribers the first five posts or N posts are moderated, after which the moderated flag is removed.
