Agreed. I was referring to the common question on MTA support lists along the lines of "Why is <MTA name> sending emails out as '<user>@<host>.<domain>.<tld>' and not '<user>@<domain>.<tld>' like it should be?". In this case, it is indeed an MTA mis-configuration on their ends, automatically adding the (incorrect) host / domain name to uncanonical sending email addresses.
