Actually, I think the problem also occurs with Mailman 2.1.12 and Python 2.5.x, so we're not off the hook on that one. I have not considered the problem to be that serious. I fixed it in source at the end of July after hitting it on my own site. Before that there was one report in April that I didn't correctly diagnose, and two more reports since then.
