Thank you, Mark!  

The 'offending' domain is no longer blocked at the gateway, but the
address has now been added to ban_list for all mailing lists.  At least
legitimate mail from legitimate users of that domain will be able to
reach individual members of staff or students here.  

And the header_filter_rule to discard all mail marked as spam has been
added to all the list configs, so that the notification messages no
longer 'get up the nose' of the list owners.  

The ~/data directory and the ~/qfiles directory have never been so
clean.  :)
