Pues en lo personal me parece una estupenda y excelente idea ponerle gentoo al server... Yo creo que es la mejor opcion, pues los paquetes que trae son mas nuevos y el sistema de ports de BSD que trae es magnifico...(quien lo haya usado o visto en accion sabra que no miento) y excelente para mantener el servidor actualizado y consistente.
