Then, when I import the mbox file, I can choose whatever location I want, and everything works as expected. In this case, I chose to import them to the inbox of an account other than the one they came from originally.

That my main problem : I cannot choose the destination (beside the fact that the messages that appeared are from a different mbox, but this is too weird to be true….). Have you tried to import your mbox into something different from an Inbox, like a specific mailbox?

I am using an older version of MailMate: 1.13.2 (5673), so everything I'm doing and saying depends on that. I have not looked at any newer versions yet.

I have an "Options" button in the lower left of the dialog box that comes up when I choose "Import Messages..." from the File menu. This lets me choose a destination for the imported messages. I've only tried a couple but expect that anything would work.

I don’t see a “Select export folder” : I use the Copy to mbox command under Bundles-Export, to export.

Hmmmm... on the Command->Export menu item, I have a submenu with three items: Copy to Folder, Copy to mbox, and Select Export Folder. The last one lets me select a location where the results of "Copy to mbox" will end up.

In fact I previously exported dozens of mailboxes (that end up in a folder on my desktop), which I then saved locally into Thunderbird (for archiving purposes, as discussed previously), but then I wanted to reimport one that I still needed, and this is where the problems began.
