No. The closest is ⌃⌘A to select a thread.
I like being able to see the whole thread in the preview pane and just read down a conversation in one glance ( altho, being able to elid signatures would be nice there - esp. for mailing lists with lots of duplicated ones ).
The only reason stripping signatures is not default behaviour is that I cannot add it before I also provide an easy way to disable it when it fails (handling false positives).
