As an aside, because of long habit I keep nothing in my Sent folder,
filing all sent messages together with the rest of the thread.
Everything seems to work fine, although I can't explain why.

completed. The correct address (the one without "kai" at the end) is
also in the list, but the wrong one seems to come first.

The bogus address is not shown in the "Contacts" application, that one
only contains John's valid address.
