I run MailMate on three computers. On one of them, a particular
message seems to hang MailMate; on another, it's fine. By "hang" I
mean that when I select the message, I get the spinning beach ball
and Activity Monitor shows MM as not responding. It isn't chewing up
CPU time or doing network I/O; it's just sitting there hung. Any
suggestions? All machines have the current non-beta version of
MailMate on El Capitan. Killing/restarting MailMate doesn't help.
This is a known issue I'm currently investigating. Unfortunately I
don't have a workaround for you yet. Your case is a good example why
it's a pretty frustrating issue. It only happens for some users and I
have not been able to identify what triggers it. Some times the
problem suddenly disappears.
(Technical part: The problem seems to be related to the
`canonical_to_html` script which simply hangs for certain plain text
messages, but I cannot reproduce it myself. It only happens on El
Capitan and it's reproducible for some users, but apparently not for
all users.)
Out of curiosity, is there any chance that using a different machine to
move the message to a different folder and then moving to back would
help? It's not crucial, since it's a message I probably won't need to
look at too often in the future, but...
