Why the difference?
I guess it's a feature. It's a fall back when the root of the thread is
not in the current mailbox (which the user would probably already know).
Or is it another way to return to the first email in a thread whitout
leaving the email-list-view?
If I understand correctly, you would like the fall back to be to pick
the oldest message in the thread in the current mailbox?
