It seems I found a kind of a solution. I requires defining two smart
folders, one containing messages you don't want to be notified about,
and another containing everything else. This seems to be possible
through adding a condition that Thread-Id is not in the first smart
folder.
Then I can configure a counter for this folder and voila :)
Would love to know about alternative approaches if any.
