I could see it, though, as a consequence of using version 1.9.4 (5234)
on Sierra, huh? I am hesitant to update/upgrade too many things at
once, 'til I see how things go with what I did update/upgrade...but if
that's the fix, I'll do it.
I've managed to (accidentally) reproduce similar behavior on Yosemite by
using an alternative "System" font and by using TinkerTool to bump up
default font size for OS-provided views.
