Ah, then you shouldn't see this issue unless you first select part of
the text in the message. This has always been a bit flaky in MailMate. I
could at least clean up the extra whitespace.
PS I left the reply as MM2 made it. You’ll notice that the original
text from me is not double-quoted, even though it should be.
This is the same issue. Selecting text doesn't always correctly preserve
quoting levels.
