Hi,
I noticed today that my TimeMachine Backup took seriously long time.
After checking the TimeMachine Logs I found that there is a directory
in my home directory where now IMAP messages are stored, and not in
~/Library (or similar). I.e. messages are stored in
~/com.freron.MailMate/
When did this change?
I expect it is different for each user... For me it was 2017-08-03,
apparently
Is something screwed up in my setup?
No. This is the result of the choices in the "Messages Folder" section
of the Preferences->General pane. Spotlight searches in the Finder will
not show any results inside ~/Library/Application Support/ by default,
so to be searchable in the Finder, the "real" Messages folder has to be
somewhere visible. The "normal" location is now a symbolic link:
silverclam:~ wkc$ ls -l ./Library/Application\ Support/MailMate/Messages
lrwx------ 1 wkc staff 39 Aug 3 21:28 ./Library/Application
Support/MailMate/Messages -> /Users/wkc/com.freron.MailMate/Messages
