I wouldn't recommend this. Having two copies of MM updating these important files on which it relies via a shared folder in real time is probably going to lead to corruption.

In fact, I just found this old comment from Benny when someone else was trying to do something similar (from https://mailmate.freron.narkive.com/C29rlbuH/mlmt-sync-mailmate-settings):

Currently I've got a symlink set up via dropbox for the files in
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/ except

Just be aware that you cannot run more than one instance of MailMate
when doing this. You must quit/start MailMate on your machines to make
sure you do not loose any settings.

So be careful!

If you mean keeping two separate installs insyinc over time, I believe there has been discussion on the list, in regards to using something like dropbox to store your settings, and aliasing to it in each computer’s ~/Library/Application Support/Mailmate dir. I’m not sure if it’s that simple, but something like that.

How do you setup a second instance of mailmate? I want to configure it on a new computer, but carry over my existing settings, smart mailboxes, etc. and keep them in sync.

How do I do that?
