I just discovered that hitting Command-F, trying to find a text in a
mail ( in viewer window or in single mail window )
changes the looks of the active window to a small tall window . . . ( I
can’t reduce the viewer window manually to that size if I would like
to )

Bonjour Alexandre,
YES ! multiple monitors on a MacMini.
Yesterday I physically disconnected one monitor but the issue
persisted.
I also found out that I sometime have to enable distortion mode to be
able to “recover” new/reply window I wish to use.

Marc

Are you using multiple monitors (possibly with a MacBook that is
roaming) ?

In the worst case it looks like MM is opening an invisible window
which can be seen in the Window-menu but can’t be accessed using
the Show_All_Windows ( Right click on MM in the Dock )

Since r5820 my new message window pops up in a rather impossible
place & format
I don’t think it’s related to r5820 but I feel that for one or
another reason some settings got “corrupted” leading to this
behaviour.
Returning to earlier versions doesn’t change anything.
Does anybody know how I can affect/set the presets of a new message
window ( location & size ) ?
I’m running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6.
Thanks in advance,
