I have a green circle in my menu bar with a count of the number of flagged messages in my Inbox. It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/SEz4iPH.png
In my Preferences → Counters → Display I have "In menu bar" unchecked: https://i.imgur.com/qAdvqou.png I noticed if I right-click on a mailbox in the sidebar, I can select "Displayed Count → No Count" but that only affects the display of count in the sidebar.
