While I haven't seen this exact behavior I've noticed that sometimes the apple 
or Mailmate menu seem to flash when I'm navigating the mail (it's so fast that 
I can't say what menu flashes but it's up in the left corner). I have no idea 
why this happens.

I personally haven't seen this, but there is perhaps some faulty email data 
that causes Mailmate to wait for timeout???
