First, sorry if this is a known issue - I did look through the last couple months' archives but I don't usually keep up with the list traffic.
I recently upgraded to the latest test build - 5890, I think, and just today upgraded to 5895. I am not sure what I was running before 5890, but it had been a while since I last upgraded. I did notice significant visual changes to the mailbox viewer, to give you some idea how long it had been. Normally, when composing a message, I start typing the address in the To: line, and once the autocompletion has gotten to the address I want, I press comma. Most mail clients, including Mailmate until recently, treat this as "accept this autocomplete", finish the address, and let me start another. However, Mailmate now just ignores the keypress of the comma. Makes typing addresses for new messages really irritating.
