Doug,Within Mailmate’s Main Window, on its Contextual Menu Bar, View>Layout>Hide Mailboxes.
There is a shortcut also, ^⌥⌘D (control+option+command+D) to turn Mailboxes on and off. Be sure your focus is on the correct (Main) window.
