Noted. However, you are not the person who asked for help, whose experience may 
differ.

When I delete a Gmail message via MailMate, double-tapping my custom keybinding 
for "delete message" (x) permanently deletes the messages without my having to 
change mailboxes, since I typically view Gmail from a MailMate view of unread 
messages, or from my top-level "Google Mail" mailbox in the Sources list. The 
first press archives the message, which stays in the current view. The second 
deletes it permanently. Maybe a similar workflow would be helpful to Tariq.
