Thank you for pointing to this issue. I have had the same problem for years, with hundreds of similar messages. The sender is claimed to be : *Microsoft exchange server 2010*. There is no way to get rid of these messages, irrespective of the way I access my institution’s server. At some point I thought this was linked to a Gmail account that I used as a backup, and that there was a problem transferring some mails to Gmail. But this was just an hypothesis.

So if anyone has a solution to get rid of these messages, he/she deserves all my gratitude.

Hi,

I have a couple of exchange accounts with customers. Most things work fine with MailMate though the proposed changes to SMTP next year are giving me something to think about.

But occasionally I get some messages from the server – not normally related to e-mail, I think – that I simply cannot delete.

They always have the same subject: "
Subject: Retrieval using the IMAP4 protocol failed for the following message: "

Anyone know how to get rid of them for good?

Charlie
