I have been running MailMate 6272 with SpamSieve 3.2.2 under Sonoma 14.8.2 and it worked just dandy. I just upgraded Sonoma to version 14.8.5. Since then, using MailMate became a hassle. I am talking about delays up to 45-50 seconds when mail is being fetched or when I mark mail as spam.

The slowdowns are characterized by the "spinning pizza" in MailMate and a red mark on SpamSieve’s icon on the dock. That is the symptoms match the known issue related to how macOS Sonoma handles mail extensions. However, I had no such a problem under earlier release of Sonoma (to which I upgraded from Monterey last fall).

With 24 mail accounts the delays make mail processing quite a challenge to say it mildly.

There is an ongoing thread about long delays under different circumstance. I don’t recall delays related to SpamSieve being reported on the list, so I am puzzled by this. There is a newer version of MailMate than mine but I can’t find the release notes newer than 2024 to see whether there are any related improvements. SpamSieve is at its newest.
