Aside, but it's not clear to me what the attraction of a traditional client 
like MailMate is to Gmail users. Isn't MIMEStream likely to be more your jam? 
It talks Google's API direct, understands Google's tagging semantics natively, 
and is more likely to integrate with Google's brave new world of AI-powered 
search than any other client in future.

That having been said, I'd not be totally offended by an *optional* MCP 
listener in MailMate. Although, I would definitely prefer other things, like 
support for local maildir++ mailboxes which could then be searched by your 
favourite AI agent, and complete implementation of Apple's accessibility 
protocols (which would benefit AI agents also, indirectly, but more importantly 
the users of those accessibility tools, like me).
