That's what my users do. After telling me what a horrible idea it was, they now like it just fine. I believe one of your competitors has a hack in which mail with a header like the one Spamassassin adds is generally delivered to the spam folder and doesn't count (much) against one's reputation. That is certainly subject to gaming, but in my experience getting my filters and Google's to agree what's spammy, if only to defer to POP fetch, is pretty hard.
