I think it could be a long tail thing -- if all the businesses $100M or bigger do BIMI, that's a large fraction of the mail but a small fraction of the number of businesses.

The overall request for it probably has to do with the perception that email is competing these days with other messaging products which are almost entirely proprietary. If I'm contacted by a vendor on FB/Twitter/Messenger/Instagram/whatever, it will be branded... and email looks outdated.

I sadly realize that I am the last person in the world using Alpine.
