The RFCs don't care much about your "anti-spam SW".  AFAICT this
was done as the most simple way to reach the postmaster at a host
-- reducing the chance of being rejected due to some misconfiguration
where a host does not accept mail for its own name or its own MX.
(for more detail it's probably best to check the history of that
special treatment in the ietf-smtp mailing list?)

Of course there are those systems which are misconfigured in other
ways as comcast demonstrates.
