Heh, years ago i used forwarding as simple antiSPAM solution.

In that time registering at some site (eg. forums) with email
address soon or latter ended with tons of messages, mostly
unwanted, without any real chance to stop them. Thus i had
freemail address registered for that purpose and when count
of bad messagess cross some threshold i simple removed
that forwarding and registered new...

As antispam solutions improved i abandon that..
