qmail has been ignoring 8BITMIME and sending 8-bit since 1998, with very few problems. Nothing in DKIM contemplates downcoding a signed message. In the twenty years that DKIM has been around, I don't ever recall it coming up. Mimecast really needs to get their software into the 21st century.
