All,

Want to clarify a couple of things for the group.

Usage in the customer portal

Yes there was an issue on our side of things that caused graphs to be empty. That has been resolved by the team.

Free Usage Limits

Some of the language included in our usage terms is vague (on purpose). Publishing specific limits leads to abuse of systems in Spamhaus' line of work. A company of 10 to 50 would be hard pressed to hit the average daily limit that would hit our radar unless they  are all in the business of signing up for every newsletter on the planet. When it comes to those utilizing free Data Query Service and someone appears to be in violation they will be contacted by someone at which point there may be room to reduce query volume (tons of people have misconfigurations) or a commercial license would be required to keep using. Those that would likely be exceeding limits would be ISPs, MNCs, Government Organizations, etc.

Commercial Use

Regarding the wording around commercial use. A company that sells filtering services, paid services that include mailboxes, threat intelligence providers, etc. is considered commercial. This is not an exhaustive list but imagine the point gets across with the examples provided.

If anyone else has questions feel free to respond to the thread or hit me up directly.

Thanks,
Stith

And what happens if the amount is exceeded?

I don't know.

I suspect that the query volume is probably verbiage that can be used to / referenced if / when there is a problem.

I simply looked at my count of messages passing through my system a day.
