This bell.net problem (also on its related sympatico.ca domain) doesn't seem to have a solution. Many have tried ...
My workaround (for opensmtpd) is this: filter bellnet phase mail-from match rdns regex "\.bell\.net$" \ reject "550 5.7.1 bell.net does not accept mail from orthanc.ca, so we don't accept theirs." filter bellnet2 phase mail-from match mail-from regex "@(.*\.)?bell\.net$" \ reject "550 5.7.1 bell.net does not accept mail from orthanc.ca, so we don't accept theirs." Using this, when bell.net or sympatico.ca customers try to email me, they get a DSN explaining what's going on. Otherwise, it appears they are being ignored or ghosted, as I am unable to reply to their mail. And likewise you need to block mail sent to bell.net hosted domains with a similar DSN so your senders know what's going on. That workaround has been implemented by a lot of sites. The bottom line is bell.net doesn't understand how email works, and they have no interest in learning. Because they already Know It All :-P --lyndon _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
