In the last day or so I have started receiving the same email multiple times from gmail, within up to 30 seconds. Mainly duplicate (ie 2 copies), one I received 3 times. They have the same message-id: & date: & X-Received: headers DKIM-Signature: differs. I receive the messages from different google.com machines. Is anyone else seeing the same things ? Is there someone from google who will speak with me ?
Hello, I also noted yesterday (but only once) a messages send from an individual Gmail user to an address on my server. same message-id, only one recipient, first SMTP session took 3.4 seconds (without any SMTP errors) the second SMTP session from a different Gmail source-ip started 4 seconds later and took only 0.2 seconds I suspect, Gmail generate DKIM signatures just before a message is sent, that explains the different DKIM signatures. Maybe there was a situation at Gmail, that for SMTP sessions taking more then 3 seconds, the final "250 OK" was not interpreted as successful response because it came "too late" and the delivery was marked as "tempfail, retry later" So this is typical "e-mail works that way" but three seconds is a little bit short...
