Hi Gang

Now for a change - to something more technical :-)

We operate an asterisk voicemail service for multiple wholesale
customers with their own domain.

envelope-sender: [email protected]
From: [email protected] (substitute with customer domain)

The asterisk voicemail service operates on an email template
basis only allowing to alter the From: header, not the envelope sender.

Until shortly, this did not cause any issues as vm.imp.ch has a
matching SPF entry.

Now one of our customers configured a _DMARC entry for his From: domain
- emails to his customers now get rejected because of 'SPF alignment
fail'.

To my understanding, no matter what aspf and adkim flag used, this
causes a DMARC aware receiving server to require the envelope sender
domain and from domain to be aligned (aka both being in the same
domain).

How would you solve this situation?

Mit freundlichen Grüssen
