Hi Ken,
Do you need proxy authentication? If yes, here's what I would try:
- Open "Keychain Access"
- Search for your proxy passwords (one for http + and for https)
- Double click each and make sure Mailplane has access to it.

Maybe your browser is using http:// to access Gmail. Mailplane uses
https://to do the authentication. Please check your proxy
https://settings...
