Text size settings:

There is one in Preferences/Tweak UI called "Gmail Text Size" (see first
screenshot). This setting changes how text is displayed. You can also change
it by using View->Make Text Smaller and View->Make Text Larger menu items.
Changing this setting should not affect the text size of the emails you
send. Safari has similar menu items to change the text size. Is this the
size you refer as the gmail reading size?

The composing text size would be the one you choose in the rich text tool
bar (see second screenshot). Am I correct? If you mean the same thing:
The gmail
reading size should work independently of this composing text size or we
have still a bug.
