But I have the option to 'always use https' enabled in the GMail preferences, so I'm always using a secure connection. It's not so much speed that I'm having a problem with in that once things are working in MailPlane, it's OK. However, MailPlane seems to have more of a problem recovering from stalls or hiccups in the connection. Especially at work, I have to frequently restart MailPlane to get it going. This isn't the case when using the browser, i.e., FireFox. Strange thing that.
