Mailplane is using the official Gmail authentication API. Unfortunately, for
a couple of users, it doesn't work. Google is replying with a BadRequest
html page. This is why you get the error dialog with the "Try to load Inbox"
button.

Maybe it's a temporary problem, personally I haven't experienced it.
Any other users having the same problem?
