For anyone who is interested, this little snippet:

/* Set Font Family */
* {
    font-family: 'Lucida Grande', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica,
sans-serif !important;
    /*font-size: 14px !important;*/
}

will reset all of Mailplane to Lucida Grande; just change the font
name to whatever font you want.

However, I had a much more elaborate .css for resetting monospace
only, which no longer works. I wish Google would publish this stuff
somewhere..
