I wonder if you guys who have problem also have ClickToFlash. I have ClickToFlash installed and I would have the problem also where I had to click on the "Attach a file" button to see the progress. Once I moved ClickToFlash out of the way, things worked fine.
But this still only worked if I had already opened a new message to compose in the main window. If I drag files onto the main window when it is displaying messages or in a separate compose window, then this didnt work.
