Everything is shiny again! I contacted the Typinator developers asking for input and they responded very promptly:
Even better, we don't just have "input" but rather a solution. However, I ask you for patience. We are about to release an update tomorrow afternoon (Central European time). Cheers, gue This morning there was an update waiting and the first line on the change log was: Typinator v 3.5.1 (June 2009) - Changes since v 3.5 Now correctly handles multi-line expansions in Coda, Mailplane, ScreenSteps and TextMate. All good. Would not have wanted to choose between Mailplane and Typinator.
