Hi Alan,
No, that's not the case (I'm using Google Gears/Gmail Offline under Snow
Leopard right now). When you have Offline Gmail you can be one of these
three modes:
- Offline mode
- Flaky connection mode
- Online mode

Only the online mode supports attachments. Just make sure your status is
"Online".
