Hi Stuart, Google has improved "Offline Gmail": You can now attach files while you are offline. However, this improvement comes at a price: The "Inserting Images" lab isn't currently supported, from the error message I assume it's until the next "Offline Gmail" version.
In Safari, you still get the "Inserting Images" lab feature as Safari 64 bit will not Google Gears and does not suffer from this limitation. In short: It's either "Offline Gmail" or "Inserting Images" for the moment. If you prefer "Inserting Images", you need to uninstall Google Gears from your Mac.
