These workarounds are OK when starting new conversations or one-off messages, but they're a lot of trouble to try to use for ongoing conversations. It's much easier just to add a BCC for those as things currently are. I have all of my emails forwarded and combined to a single account and use the "Reply from the same address the message was sent to" option.
