I am also seing the same issue since two days now, nothing changed.
The Label-Dropdown inside Google Mail in Mailplane works as expected,
but hitting Command-L and entering the first letters of an existing
label with a message selected does not populate the box with the
existing labels any longer but shows a "create label" dialog...
