Hi bongoman,
Mailplane doesn't support Safari extensions.
Here's what you can try:
1) Enable the "hide invitation box" setting in Preferences > Tweak UI
2) Create a custom stylesheet and enable it in Preferences > Tweak UI.  This
can be used to hide
ads: http://mailplaneapp.com/howto/entry/hide_the_gmail_sponsored_links/ or to
hide any element (use Right Click > Inspect Element to find out about the
element you want to hide).
