Gmail uses Flash for the 'advanced attachment uploader' and for 'Google chat
& video'.
Discrete graphics: Maybe it doesn't happen in 64bit mode. Mailplane is still
32bit.

To test if this is the case:
- locate Safari in Finder
- Press Command-I to open the info panel
- Select 'Open in 32 bit mode'
- Restart Safari

Same issue?
