Martin from Rapportive here. Thanks for using Rapportive! Rapportive and Boomerang both use a greyed-out Gmail while showing a pop-up dialog (e.g. to log in, or in order to connect your LinkedIn account), and remove the greyness again when the pop-up closes. We're not aware of any problem with the pop-up, but it's possible that there is an issue somewhere that we've missed. Can you let me know what you did exactly just before the Gmail went dark? (e.g. clicked a Facebook "add friend" button, a twitter "reply" link, etc?)
