OK, I just got the notice to update to 2.5.6. On doing so, it tells me that I need to generate an application-specific password to use MP with 2-factor authentication on my account.
So I generate an app-specific password and enter it in the alert sheet Mailplane is showing. Click login. GMail immediately puts up a web page stating that I have to enter my REGULAR password, because app-specific can't be used. I do that. Then GMail goes to the web page that makes me get out my phone and call up a validation code. This is terrible. Do I have to go back to Mail? I'm sick and tired of having to type in my regular GMail password every few days, and then look up a validation code. If I wanted to do that, I'd just use the web browser interface. I want an app that knows how to log me in so I don't have to keep messing with it. That's why I bought Mailplane in the first place, but it just doesn't seem to be working right. Any ideas out there? Is Mailplane supposed to work with 2-factor accounts using app-specific passwords? Is it supposed to keep pestering me for my regular password and validation code in addition? That is a pain. I use an iPhone app that doesn't have this problem. Do I need to flip a switch somewhere in Mailplane to make it work without asking for my password/code? -- Mike Casteel Seattle, WA -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mailplaneapp" group.
