And I would like to encourage the use of a preference, or attention to system preferences for this, because for me the swipe to go back is the worst browser misfeature since the ridiculous backspace to go back. Going back can wipe out the work already performed on the current page when cache suppression features are active, and there is no way to undo an inadvertent gesture.
