The GChat panel in the lower-left corner of the window just says "Oops. Your chat connection may have been interrupted" with the reconnect countdown timer, and it never successfully connects. If I just login into my Google Apps account in a standard Chrome window, it works as expected, so it appears to be a Mailplane problem.
